The measuring visit is free, and the price arrives as a written figure for your actual windows, not an estimate for somebody else's.
What a stock size cannot know
A factory that cuts blinds ahead of time has to guess at the world's windows, so it guesses a handful of widths and hopes yours lands near one. It rarely does. The difference gets absorbed the only two ways it can be — a blind narrower than the opening, leaking a stripe of daylight down each edge, or one wider than the glass, mounted proud of the wall to hide the mismatch. Both work, the way a borrowed suit works.
Measuring first removes the guess. Width and drop are taken to the millimetre — at three heights, because real openings taper — the diagonals are checked, because real openings lean, and the crank handles, tile lips and radiator pipes that ambush mail-order blinds get designed around instead of discovered on installation day. The blind that comes back was never a near-miss corrected; it was built for that opening and no other.
The cost question, answered the honest way
Made-to-order usually costs more than mass-produced, and a page that pretends otherwise is warming up to mislead you about something else. What we will not do is name a number here: a price for windows nobody has measured is a guess wearing a suit, and this site does not publish guesses. The figure you get is produced at the free visit, for your actual openings and choices, in writing — and it obliges you to nothing, because no deposit is taken and nothing is ordered until you have said yes to it.
The comparison worth making is not custom against the sticker price of stock — it is custom against stock plus the second purchase that follows when the near-miss starts to grate. A blind bought twice is rarely the cheap one.
A house keeps many hours, so it should keep many blinds
The premise of this whole site is that every room lives at a different hour of light — the bedroom's crisis is six in the morning, the office's is the two o'clock glare, the living room loses its hour to the low seven o'clock sun. It follows that a single product repeated through a house is not a style; it is the same answer given to different questions. Custom work removes any reason for it: the quote runs one line per opening, so blackout in the bedrooms, zebra bands on the street-facing glass, a wand-driven vertical on the patio door and cordless everywhere a child goes is not a complicated order. It is just an accurate one.

What does "custom" actually mean on this site?
That the blind is built to the measurements we take at your window — width and drop to the millimetre, squareness checked, obstructions noted — rather than picked from a shelf of preset sizes and lived with. A stock blind rounds your opening to the nearest size the factory chose; a custom one has no rounding in it, because your numbers were the starting point.
What does a custom blind cost?
A real figure, produced after your windows are actually measured, written down, and left with you — not a number invented online for a window nobody has seen. The visit that produces it is free, there is no deposit, and nothing is ordered until you have agreed to the written quote. $99 off when you order three or more blinds, applied to your written quote at the measure.
Do I need to choose products before the visit?
No — arriving undecided is the normal way this works. The point of measuring in your home is that fabrics and mechanisms get held against your own glass, in the light your rooms actually keep, which settles most debates faster than any amount of advance research. Bring the complaint; the sample case brings the options.
Can different rooms get completely different blinds?
Yes, and most houses should. Every room keeps a different hour of light — the bedroom's problem is six in the morning, the office's is two in the afternoon — so the quote is written one line per opening, and mixing blackout here, sheer bands there and a wand-driven vertical on the patio door adds no cost and no complication. One product throughout is the compromise, not the default.
How long until the blinds are installed?
Your installation date is confirmed in writing at the quote — that is the commitment we control and put on paper, rather than a generic week-count that shifts with the fabric, the product and the season. Your own date arrives with your own quote.
Do you make custom blinds for businesses as well as homes?
